Made by the Czochralski 'pulled' process, this lovely old synthetic Alexandrite is a generous oval shape and has a vivid purple colour under dimmer light and a softer wine red in bright light. Although set in base metal, the whole setting is lovingly designed to wonderful effect. It has been completely hand crafted and engraved with a beautiful typically Russian floral motif which flatters the pretty shape so well. The snake style chain is 40cm in length, and then the whole is gilded in 18ct yellow gold. A rare piece.
